Sometimes...
Temptations come when you realize how much easier it seems to be a non-Christian. It looks like life would be soooo much more easier and pleasurable… but God won’t let me leave; not with his Holy Spirit that he has given to me already.

Wrestling With God
I have been learning that it’s ok to wrestle with my anger with God for this season. I know that God is bigger than my anger and he will hold me. I have so many questions and hurts, and even when I’m in this messed up state in my walk he still calls me his beloved child because of Jesus. He is a good and patient Father.

Come Thou Fount
My Favorite Hymn.
Come, Thou Fount of every blessing, Tune my heart to sing Thy grace; Streams of mercy, never ceasing, Call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me some melodious sonnet, Sung by flaming tongues above. Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it, Mount of Thy redeeming love.
Sorrowing I shall be in spirit, Till released from flesh and sin, Yet from what I do inherit, Here Thy praises...

Reality Check
How does it feel to know that we have brothers and sisters who are suffering and being tortured for believing in Jesus Christ while trying to bring the gospel to unreached peoples, and others that starving to death with young girls being sold into slavery to be continually raped… All the while Christians here cannot stop arguing over issues of Calvinism and Arminianism, church politics,...

Just a Thought
Maybe the Gospel of Jesus Christ is not being heard and falling on deaf ears because the church has stopped taking action and stopped obeying the commands of Christ to go out into the hard places.
How can we say that we highly revere the Scriptures when we don’t obey their commands. I include myself in this critique. Maybe the world will hear the glorious gospel message of the risen...

Let my sin show your forgiveness

A New Year
Another retrospective look on this past year brings back sweet memories and a fuller, grander picture of God’s grace and power in my life. My birthday blogs always end up to be a recap of the year’s events so please bear with me.
As I look back on this past year I can definitely see God’s active hand working in my life more clearly than ever before. I have had my ups and downs, but God as always...

Schooling and Academics
Today will mark the end of one of the most hectic, intellectually, mentally, spiritually and physically challenging weeks of my life thus far. With finals at my junior college approaching, study time must increase with other exams coming before then in the mix (I really want that 4.0!). On top of that, I have just started graduate courses at Veritas Evangelical Seminary, which is a block of night...

Knowing Christ
Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord. To write to you again about this is no trouble for me and is a protection for you. Watch out for “dogs,” watch out for evil workers, watch out for those who mutilate the flesh. For we are the circumcision, the ones who serve by the Spirit of God, boast in Christ Jesus, and do not put confidence in the flesh —although I once also had confidence in the...

Reminder in Suffering
Something I must learn, trust and embrace: God’s sovereignty is the comfort in suffering.
Sanctification August 31, 2010 at 5:30pm
This is something I posted last year on Facebook. It still resonates with me and is a reality to me every day. It seems that almost every time God’s sovereignty is brought up in Scripture it is within the context of giving hope, peace, and comfort in...

Reflection Eternal
So, I just finished writing this huge paper of research on the Old Testament (that’s all I’m gonna say about that), and after all the sacrifices made and the struggles encountered, I have to say that I’m glad I went through it all. I take this as a glimpse of my future life in ministry will look like to a degree. So many countless hours dedicated to studying and writing and...
Dependence Upon The Infinite Sovereign
Others may be allowed to succeed in making money, but it is likely that God will keep you poor, because He wants you to have something far better than gold, and that is a helpless dependence upon Him, that He may have the privilege (the right) of supplying your needs day by day our of an unseen treasury. The Lord will let others be honoured and put forward, and keep you hidden away in...

Calling
So, again, I know it’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything. Been doing a huge 20,000 word research paper right now that I’ve been focusing on. Not to mention ministry on top of that. I’ve got two Sunday morning services to preach at Christ-Driven and two more Friday studies as well. I’ve got two jobs to work for a little bit longer and so many other things I need...
Busy
Looks like I’ll be even more busy for the next couple of weeks since I have just taken on a pretty major writing/research project. I don’t even know if I can disclose too much information, but this is good for me. I love being stretched like this, even though I’m a bit stressed. God will sustain me. Pray for me.

Fatherhood
I posted this on facebook a couple days ago and thought I’d post it here as well:
But the righteous shall be glad;
they shall exult before God;
they shall be jubilant with joy!
Sing to God, sing praises to his name;
lift up a song to him who rides through the deserts;
his name is the LORD;
exult before him!
Father of the fatherless and protector of widows

It's Been Awhile...
It’s been awhile since I taught a Bible study so it will be great to get in the flow of things again. I’m super stoked for this, though! I will post up the manuscript of the study soon, maybe tonight or tomorrow. God is good and gracious and I would like to echo Paul’s statement that I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they may obtain salvation (2 Tim 2:10)! Love...
Hiatus
It’s been awhile since I’ve posted something on here. I’ve just been extremely busy getting involved with ministry and serving and having a great time with all the new friends I’m making. God is good!
In short, I have been getting involved serving at two churches, being blessed beyond anything I could have ever imagined. I have grown a lot in my relationship and walk with...

Further Reflection on the Resurrection
I know that Easter has already passed and the “feeling” has left the commercialized arena of the holiday, but that should not stop the genuine regenerated Christian from wanting to dig deeper and to feel and reflect more deeply on the work of Christ on the Cross!
I would like to comment to you all a resource that gives great insight on the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This...
"Wait for Him" in Prayer
What does it mean to wait for, or wait on the Lord in prayer? Pastor John Piper does an excellent job in describing what it means, what it feels like and what it looks like to wait for Him:
To wait! That means to pause and soberly consider our own inadequacy and the Lord’s all-sufficiency and to seek counsel and help from the Lord and to hope in Him (Psalm 33:20-22; Isaiah 8:17)
Piper...

Abortion and the Gospel of Jesus Christ
This is the transcript of my talk that I gave on abortion at the Taboo conference a couple weeks ago. Although I did not attempt to answer every possible scenario of abortion I do give biblical evidence explaining what abortion is in relation to God and His character. I also show how God’s sovereign power in sustaining life in the womb of a mother relates to the Gospel and his redemptive...
For the Love of God, Examine Yourself
Sometimes, when I’m surfing the interweb on Facebook or Tumblr, I get disappointed in the state of some cats who are professing Christians; but that’s only because I sometimes forget the depravity of the human will when the Bible says that, “the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually,”...

The Glory of Jesus Christ: A prayer
Oh to behold the Glory of Christ! Here in would I live, Here in would I die, here on would I dwell in my thoughts and my affections until all things here below become as dead and deformed things, and in no longer, any way, calling out for my affections

By the grace of God, I am what I am!
Christians should believe that salvation through faith is a gift from God (Ephesian 2:8-9). No man should boast in their salvation! Salvation was not accomplished by man, but God alone! We contribute absolutely nothing of our own to our salvation, save that sin to be atoned for. We have nothing to brag about or boast in! We are to be in a position of humility, knowing that we cannot contribute any...

God and Evil, Can They Coexist?
So I thought it would be beneficial to post up my paper that I submitted for my philosophy class on God and his relationship to evil. According to my philosophy professor it was a well-argued position, so my prayer is that this would inform those who may be struggling with this issue and comfort those who are suffering as well. In many aspects this is the fruit of my sufferings, trying to...
The Gospel
This is an excerpt from my transcript for the Sunday service I had that I ended with on the gospel. You will never outgrow your need for the gospel… NEVER!
So the gospel has been popularly summarized by many in four categories: God. Man. Christ. Response. So let’s explore these in a bit more detail
God
Here we have God. In the beginning, God! We have the holy triune God in all...
